Compare Chorby with other family chore apps

Chore apps solve different problems. Some manage a household, some move money, and some use a virtual pet to get one child started. Chorby is built for families where kids and parents share the work.

We make Chorby, so this comparison is not neutral. We link to each product's official sources so you can check the details.

Where Chorby fits

Chorby gives each person an Adventure Map or a simple task list, with Gems, Cash, or an optional allowance. Parents can track their own tasks too. A shared Family Hub keeps the household on one board.

Why choose Chorby as your family chore app?

A daily path each person can follow

A younger child can see tasks and progress on an Adventure Map. A teenager or parent can use a simple list. You can change the view as preferences change, while keeping the same family tasks and rewards.

Gems, Cash, or an optional allowance

Gems connect tasks to the Gem Shop. Cash tracks money earned from tasks. Add an optional weekly allowance when it fits your family, or simply track responsibilities without rewards.

One Family Hub, including parents

Put a shared task board on a kitchen tablet. Everyone can see their responsibilities without each child needing a phone. Parents can add their own task profiles. Phones, widgets, and Apple Watch give your family more ways to check progress.

Jobs anyone can claim

Use Everyone tasks, rotate turns, or leave an Open task for the first person who grabs it. Occasional jobs stay outside the required daily list. Optional photo proof and approvals are there when the work needs checking.

Choosing a chore app: common questions

What is the best chore app for the whole family?

Chorby fits families that want kids and parents on one chore board, with a map or list and Gems, Cash, or an optional allowance. If the main need is a debit card, savings jars, a planner, or a virtual-pet game, one of the alternatives may fit better.

What is the best chore app for younger kids and teenagers together?

Chorby lets each person choose a different experience in the same household. One child can use an Adventure Map and Gems; another can use a task list and Cash. These are examples, not age limits. Everyone can use a map, a list, or the reward style that fits them.

Can parents track their own chores without rewards?

Yes. Add a parent's task profile in Chorby and track it without rewards. Their responsibilities sit alongside the kids' work. A task profile is separate from the adult login used to manage the family.

Can a chore app track Cash without weekly allowance?

Yes. Chorby's Cash mode records money earned from individual tasks. Weekly allowance is a separate option. You can use task Cash, allowance, or both. Chorby keeps the record; your family provides the real payment.

Does every child need a phone to use Chorby?

No. Children can use Family Adventure Zone on a shared device or check tasks on a shared Chorby Hub tablet. Set a Parent PIN to protect parent controls. A child's own device can also join through Join Existing Family.
